Building Character Through Christ

Christ-Centered PBIS
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports

Creating a positive and safe learning environment where students and staff are motivated by gratitude for God's grace, growing in faith, character, and love

Our Foundation

What is Christ-Centered PBIS?

Christ-Centered PBIS is a framework for creating a positive and safe learning environment, where students and staff are motivated by gratitude for God's grace. It includes clearly teaching and practicing behavioral expectations rooted in Christian values such as love, grace, forgiveness, humility, and service. Discipline and support are framed within the context of discipleship, aiming to shape both behavior and the heart helping students grow in faith and character while fostering a Christ-honoring school community.

Our Framework

SOAR: Our Daily Commitment

At St. Paul, we foster a consistent and nurturing environment by teaching and re-teaching schoolwide behavior expectations across every area of our campus. These standards are anchored by our SOAR framework, visibly displayed throughout the building as a daily reminder.

Safe

Creating secure environments for physical, emotional, and spiritual growth where every student feels protected and valued.

Accountable

Taking responsibility for choices and actions, understanding that integrity and stewardship honor God

Optimistic

Maintaining a positive, Christ-centered perspective that empowers students to choose joy and gratitude in all circumstances

Respectful

Honoring God and loving one another as image-bearers of Christ, treating all with dignity and kindness

Student-Designed Matrices

Teachers and students across all grade levels have co-designed their own behavior matrices. These collaborative guides identify exactly how to embody being Safe, Optimistic, Accountable, and Respectful within various learning environments and academic situations. By involving students in this process, we empower them to take ownership of their classroom culture and their personal growth.

Community Building

Basic

The Bigs (6th-8th Graders)

Lead worship in Chapel every Wednesday morning, guide quarterly service projects, and facilitate K-8 PBIS activities, modeling leadership and Christian character.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ

At the start of each school year, every student is placed into a BASIC group, featuring mixed ages ranging from 3 to 14, fostering a supportive, family-like atmosphere across our entire school. Through weekly Chapel worship and PBIS activities, students grow in character and truly enjoy their time together, creating lasting bonds that define our school spirit.

The Middles

Follow the positive example set by the Bigs, preparing for future leadership roles while bridging the gap between older and younger students.

The Littles

Learn to follow the group plan, engage with older peers, and experience a safe, family-like environment where they grow in character and faith.

Spiritual Formation

Biblical Social-Emotional Learning

The intentional integration of God's Word into the development of a student's identity, emotional regulation, and social interactions. Our ultimate goal is not just "better behavior" or "happiness," but spiritual formation and discipleship.

Self-Awareness

Understanding one's identity as a child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made, while acknowledging a need for His grace.

Self-Management

Cultivating the "Fruit of the Spirit" (Galatians 5:22-23), such as self-control and patience, as a response to God's work in the heart.

Social Awareness

Recognizing every person as an image-bearer of God, leading to genuine compassion and empathy.

Relationship Skills

Learning to love, forgive, and resolve conflict based on the "one another" commands in Scripture and the example of Christ.

Responsible Decision-Making

Seeking God's wisdom (James 1:5) to make choices that align with His Word and benefit the community.

Purpose: Character Over Compliance

To foster internal transformation through the Holy Spirit, so that students act with integrity and kindness because it reflects the character of Christ, not just because it is a school rule. We aim to move students toward an identity rooted in who God says they are, equipping them to live out the "Greatest Commandment"—loving God and loving their neighbors.

Living Out Our Faith

To strengthen the bonds within our BASIC groups, we design quarterly activities and service projects that balance joyful fellowship with purposeful ministry.
